Callum Scott Howells to judge at Stephen Sondheim student competition

It's a Sin and Cabaret star Callum Scott Howells will be joining Edward Seckerson's jury for this year's SSSSPOY competition. No stranger to competitions, Callum was a founding member of No Boys Aloud - the choir that performed on Britain's Got Talent in 2012 - and won the 2013 Star of the Stage talent show. He was also a contestant on Take That's Let it Shine until he had to withdraw, following his casting in She Loves Me at the Menier Chocolate Factory. He is also an alumni of the National Youth Music Theatre and a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

Theatre credits include: Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (National Theatre/Sherman Theatre, Cardiff), the Emcee in Cabaret (Kit Kat Klub at the Playhouse), A in CRAVE (The Other Room, Cardiff), Basil in Tickledom (Welsh tour), Arpad in She Loves Me (Menier Chocolate Factory), George in Brass (Hackney Empire), James in Blackout (Aberystwyth Arts Centre), Dan Davies in Prodigy (St James Theatre) and, for the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, Godfrey in Lord of the Flies and ensemble in Oliver!

For his breakout role of Colin Morris-Jones in Russell T Davies' It's a Sin miniseries, Callum was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor and named Best Actor at the TRS Programme Awards and BAFTA Cymru. Other screen roles include Nathan in The Beautiful Game and Owen Driscoll in The Way. He is next to be seen in the Frankie Goes To Hollywood biopic Relax, playing the part of the band's frontman, Holly Johnson.
